Daryl Beard

Daryl Beard is the head coach for the boys track and field team. Coach Beard has over 6 years of coaching experience overall and 3 years of being the head coach. Coach Beard also has experience coaching the ATL Zoom Youth Track club for 3 years. He studied at North Carolina State University with a Master’s Degree in Education and obtained a USATF Level I Certification.He was awarded Region 8 GA Runner Up in 2018, Region 8 Championship in 2019, GA State Championship in 300MH, and the GA Track and Field Finals 2017, 2018, and 2019. Coach Beard’s family consists of his wife Tasha, and his kids, Kaden and Kennedy.

Coach Bernstein's family consists of husband David and her kids, Jerimiah, Benjamin, and Andrew.


Rob Blaszkiewicz

Coach B. (Rob Blaszkiewicz) enters his first year at Lanier after 20 years of coaching and teaching. He was the 2014 USTFCCA Georgia Boys Track Coach of the Year along with being the 2014 Atlanta Track Golden Anniversary Track Coach of the Year. Coach B. is returning to the Atlanta area after two years in Savannah where he was the Assistant Cross Country and Track Coach at Savannah State. He is also a former competitive masters runner who has completed seven Boston Marathons. His PR's are 2:5029 -marathon, 1:18:10 -half marathon, 34:37 -10K and 16:27 - 5K.


Herb Jones

Herb Jones is the coach for hurdles, long sprinting and endurance (mid-distance / distance) student-athletes. He provided training guidance that helped lead Zachary Charles to be crowned as the 300-meter intermediate hurdles 6A 2019 Georgia High School Association State Championship gold medalist and Nahil Perkins to become the runner-up silver medalist in the same race. Coach Jones is an IAAF Level 5 certified youth specialist, USATF Level 3 certified youth specialist, USATF Level 2 certified Endurance specialist, USATF Level 2 Certified Sprints, Hurdles & Relays specialist, and USATF Level 1 Certified Specialist. Additionally, he is certified in the following:

  • USTFCCCA Certified Sprints, Hurdles, & Relays Coaching
  • USTFCCCA Certified in Track & Field Technical Coaching
  • Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Certified Community Coaching

Ron Hunt

Coach Ron Hunt is a new addition as a Jumps Coach. He has coached pole vaulters and high jumpers at Grayson High School and Shiloh High School producing 4 regional pole vault champions. He is a native of Brooklyn, NY was educated at the University of Miami and is a veteran U.S. Air Force officer and former educator. He currently works in the travel and real estate industries but maintains a passion for track & field and helping student athletes realize and maximize their potential. He and his wife Lorna have two grown children.
